Bluebell-19 Message to villagers

We hope you are all keeping well, and coping with staying at home where possible.

We have been overwhelmed with offers of help from you, to assist others in our community. Bluebell-19 users have been kept supplied with prescriptions, provisions and support. If you need assistance with shopping because you are self-isolating, please contact us. Fortunately there now seem to be more delivery slots from the supermarkets, and several are offering schemes to assist vulnerable customers, Morrisons, for example, offer a telephone service for those who can’t physically visit their store to order from a list of 47 essential grocery items for next day delivery. Their number is 0345 611 6111. Other supermarkets are available! If you are gluten intolerant, Marks and Spencer now have their free from products available in a box to order online. Locally, the village shop in Great Gransden continues to provide excellent service and supplies to the community, and will deliver to the most vulnerable households locally.  Woodview Farm in Gamlingay are also offering free delivery to the most vulnerable, and you can collect orders without leaving your car, by prior arrangement. Bluebell-19 volunteers are of course available for anyone who is experiencing difficulties with other options, but please remember they have to try and get delivery slots, or travel to shops on your behalf. Their generous participation is intended for the very vulnerable or those who do not have ready access to essentials. Also, if you are aware of anyone experiencing financial difficulties at this time, Cambourne Food Bank have stated they are able to support residents in local villages. To minimise trips to doctor surgeries and pharmacies, volunteers are very happy to collect prescriptions. Please contact your village organiser with requests. During May, Sarah Thurbin is the designated person collecting prescriptions from Bourn Surgery for drop off to Gransden village shop, and she is happy to collect on behalf of others.

By now you will have received your copy of this month’s Roundabout magazine, which gives a list of organisations that offer more specialised support than we can perhaps provide. We plan to list contact details on our website www.bluebell-19.gransdens.org. but are also happy to receive calls from anyone who may need contact information.

Bluebell-19 exists to help residents in our local villages help each other. We hope you all keep well, stay at home where possible and remain safe.
